Someone in our office wants to sync his iphone with exchange server internally just temporarily. So I've put a temp wireless router on our network the phone is connected and can ping our exchange 2003 server.

On the exchange server I've enabled OMA and Active Sync.

We only use one exchange server. What else do I need to do to get it working as the phone is not connecting?

yeah configured that too along with iis

found a handy tool called active sync tester from here:

Here are the results....

Testing servername (non-SSL, On LAN):

Communications:
Doing DNS lookup on servername ............. OK (ip address)
Testing TCP to ip address port 80 .... OK
ActiveSync:
Checking for application ................. OK
Checking version ......................... OK (6.5.7638.1)
Checking protocols ....................... OK (1.0,2.0,2.1,2.5)
User Permissions:
Checking "ad/username" ...................... FAIL

Result:
ActiveSync detected, but not correctly configured. [HTTP 500: Forms-based auth enabled?]

(For more detailed diagnosis and possible solutions, see )

I've tried the various resolutions including setting up another website but still no joy. Because it's internal and just temp I haven't get ssl enabled on the default website anyway.

I'm sure it's something in IIS but can't see what!
