Can somone help me wiht instructions on how to configure my network with a DSL modem through Southwestern Bell's service? I am currently going through sbcglobal.net. I have a 2Wire Home Portal 1000SW modem. The hardware is defintiely hooked up corectly. I am used to a cable modem configuration and have yet to set one up this way.

I noticed the PPPoE connection ability of the router and have messed around with those settings, but have yet to succesfully connect the router to the WAN. The router will try to connect and then time out with the current settings.

Please help!

You will likely find all your questions answered at the SBC User Forum at BroadbandReports.com.

Pay special attention to the FAQs at the top of the Forum page.

As a guess, the only problem you are having is that you need to specify the username and password correctly. I believe it should be the full e-mail address and password of the primary user on the account; e.g. yourname@sbc.net (or however your email account reads), password: your email password.
