Your router interface should have administration functions to allow communication from a remote source. I know from my own experience that you'll have to statically assign the box behind the router to allow access remotely.
Use ZoneEdit's dynamic DNS solution to point that domain name to your machine. Before dynamic DNS you had to have a fixed IP to run a web server. Now you can run a web server with a cable modem, DSL line or even on a dial up.
