I have 6 domain controllers on network (all have windows servers have 2003 SP2), I want to configure on more domain controller which has windows server 2003 R2.
What do I need do to promote R2 as domain controller?

we dont want to update schema on existing domain controllers.

Well you have to update the schema version if you want to introduce an R2 server to a domain controller.

You need to run adprep /forestprep command from the 2nd R2 cd.

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?
