on a compaq prosigna pIII 600 128 meg of ram
1 hdd
3part: c:2gb fat
d:2gb ntfs
e:6gb ntfs
how to config the best mem on it?

Well a rule of thum would be Virtual Memory 1.5x memory ammount on a non-system partition. Its best if you could get a second HDD to put it on. Remember that if you move the Swap file from the system partition that you will not be able to use a dump file in case of system crashes. Find another disk, 1GB is big enough.

Put that in the server and put the swap file on there. Set it to RAM * 1.5.

Recommend you put more RAM in though...

there isn't enough info in your question. You list ntfs paritions. Is the PC to be workstation or server? Windows NT, Windows 2000 or XP?
