I need to run a serial connection from an H50 running 4.3.3 to a SunFire v100. The H50 has 3 serial ports on the back but I'm not sure of the command to use to connect to the SunFire v100. On a Sun server I would use the "tip" command. What is the equivalent command on AIX? Any tips for setting this up?

If you want to access the service processor of the H50 use ports S1 or S2. Otherwise use port S3.

Use a null modem cable to do the physical connection.

You should be able to use 'cu' on the H50 to get a connection - you may need to install bos.net.uucp in order to get 'cu'.

Use 'smit tty' to configure the TTY. Use 9600,8,1,0 and hardware flow control and you should be in business.
