Hi everyone,

I'm looking for easy step to configure The button in avaya 9608g " do not disturb with exception list " for inside/outside calls in ACM

I appreciate any help

Thank you...

I think the Do Not Disturb with exception list is only good for the IP Office, not Communication Manager.

you can program a send all calls button and then if the boss needs to call this person give him the feature access code for priority calling, this will over ride the send all calls feature and thus will now do the same as IP Office. To find the code do a display feature access codes and look for code for priority calling.

joe2938 & ZeroZeroOne.... Can we do one thing for example :

We create one Group contain some extensions and we apply by one button to just receive call from this group ???

just assign a priority call button as an auto dial button to the users that are allowed to call this group, keep in mind that this group would all need to have their send all calls on at all times

Joe2938..... if it is possible can you explain more please

By what I will start ???

What is the specific command to create this group ?

I appreciate your help

What we're going to do is give certain users an "override" button so they can call anyone - even if send-all-calls is active.
[ol 1]
[li]Display feature-access-codes to find the Priority Calling Access Code on page 3[/li]
[li]Change abbreviated-dialing system and find a free line (Dial Code) The first column will be the number to dial, in this case your Feature-access-code. The right side is the label that appears on the phone so pick something descriptive, such as "Priority". Remember the DC number you picked.[/li]
[li]Change COS-group x (for the location in CM, probably "1") to set the Priority Calling permission to "y" for one of the columns. Assuming most everyone is COS 1, pick 2 or higher to provide the Priority calling.[/li]
[li]Change station XXX for the station that will be allowed to ring through to other users[/li]
[ol a]
[li]Set the COS to the new COS[/li]
[li]Go to page 4 and look at the abbreviated dialing lists. "System" is often used as list 3 but may be different on your setup. Set a free button to "abrv-dial List 3 DC XX to the DC number set previously[/li]
[/ol]
[/ol]

Now, turn on send-all-calls on a station. If you just dial that extension then you'll go to coverage immediately. Press the "Priority" button first, then dial the extension and the call will ring through.
I'm assuming the sets are not SIP (set type 9608 and not "9608SIP") and that you have a reasonably up to date CM such as v6 or higher.
Also just in case, the "send-all-calls" button is basically "do not disturb". When active on a station all incoming calls immediately follow the coverage path.

You could skip step 2 and just assign an autodial button to the phone. I like the abbreviated dials since you can add a descriptive label to the button.

Well, you reminded me of the Priority Calling... I totally spaced on that feature. [wink]

ZeroZeroOne.... Many thanks my friend i will try with this procedure

I have another question please, I configure a button for " Call forwarding " for example the President forward all calls to assistance , but the assistance can call the president even they forward to her , so what is the steps ???

Thank you guys...

Hmmm... Maybe we should back up and discuss the overall goal. What needs to be done?

It sounds like the President wants his calls screened by the Assistant and not to ring at his desk.
Does this need to be permanent?
If that's the case then I would suggest setting Bridged-appearances on the Assistant's station and setting the President's phone to a delayed or no ring.

On the President's phone
Set Per Button Ring Control to "y" on Page 2
Set call-appearances on page 4 to
Auto-A/D: Y
Rg: (d)elay

On the Assistance's phone:
Add bridged-appearances to free buttons: brdg-appr b: 1 E: XXXXX R:r Set one per call-appearance (1, 2 and 3)
B = The button number to "copy". Buttons 1, 2, and 3 are typically the call-appearances on a phone
E = The Extension to "copy", in this case, the President's extension
R = The Ring type. r for immediate ring

I would also recommend setting Auto Select Any Idle Appearance to "y" on the Assistant's phone to allow the Assistant to transfer a bridged call via his/her own call-appearance.
The Assistant now has the President's phone number on her phone in addition to his/her own. Incoming calls will be visible on the President's phone but will not ring immediately (if delayed). Call will ring immediately on the Assistant's phone.

The default value for the delay is 2 rings but can be changed under system-parameters features, page 1 Auto Abbreviated/Delayed Transition Interval (rings) if the Assistant needs more time to answer a call. When transferring back, the call needs to ring at least 2 times before the President's phone will audibly ring.

You may need to adjust the coverage path, depending on the number of rings.... So if you change the delay to 3 rings then make sure the President's coverage path uses at least 4 rings before going to voicemail.

If you really want to get fancy, set up a second station for the president in a range that is not typically used and does not have a DID associated. the station does not need to be logged into a phone. Assign bridged-appearances of this to the President's phone. With the above setup, calls to the President's PUBLISHED number first ring to the Assistant. The Assistant then transfers appropriate calls to the President's UNPUBLISHED extension. When the President places an outbound call, he will use the PUBLISHED station call-appearances. Only the Assistant needs to know the super-secret extension.
