Configure PPPOE on AVAYA Secure Router

Hi I have been battling with configuring the SR1001 and SR2330 to do PPPOE. I however am having no joy.

When I do a status of the virtual interface it returns that the status is down because either "Ethernet not registered" or "No Ethernet"

Has anyone seen these errors? How can I fix this?
