Configure own pathes in WLS6.1 SP4 ?

Hi there, maybe anyone can help me ?
For a demo-machine, we need to install Weblogic 6.1 Sp4, what should not a problem, but we would like set own pathes for the config and other dirs because of a lot of applications which shall resist in own homepathes. Of course it would be possible to solve this with many symlinks, but I would like to know if there is a "cleaner" solution to manage this ?

Maybe anyone did this before ?

You can set all your paths in a local file and call it in your startWeblogic.sh or runServer script ( startup script for the weblogic. Mail me if you need more details.
