Hi everybody

I have a question below

NBU6.0, solaris 10, with Sun HBA, IBMTS3310 with ULTRIUM LTO-4

Actually, I can configure the NBU6.0 with this library and do the backup. However, I need to install the IBM driver for this type of Library from IBM. The problem is occurred.

After successful install the driver, under the /dev/rmt/ directory, the O.S can detect the device /dev/rmt/0st and /dev/rmt/1st. (Before not using the IBM driver, this is detect /dev/rmt/0cbn and /dev/rmt/1cbn). Then configure sg driver on Netbackup. At last, I run the sgscan . It shows following

/dev/sg/c0tw5003080c000001l0: Tape (???): "IBM ULT3580-TD4"
/dev/sg/c0tw5003080c000002l0: Tape (???): "IBM ULT3580-TD4"
/dev/sg/c0tw5003080c000002l1: Changer."IBM 3576-MTL"

I have tried to manually add the IBM drive in GUI, it seems work. As I start do the backup, it can start mount the tape but nothing writing to the tape.

Can anyone give us advise how to fix it?

We had an issue similar to this. Our IBM drives scanned in as HCART2 drives. Once we changed those to DLT things starting working.
