Configure Goldmine 1

Hi,

I installed Goldmine last Friday, however when I try to configure PhoneManager to pop Goldmine I find that the option is still greyed out. Goldmine was installed locally on the PC and lives in Program Files\goldmine. Has anyone come across this before?

Do you have Phone Manager PRO? If you want to use 3rd party pop-up application you need licence for PM PRO...

I'm running phone manager pro 2.0(18), which should do it, but the option remains greyed out.

I'm using both PM Pro and Goldmine and this option is greyed out.

Is there an additional Plug-in to install with PM?

There are no aditional plugins for PM Pro but you do need to install the TAPI driver for goldmine to work

The TAPI driver is installed and I can dial from Goldmine.

Currently Phone Manager only looks for the GoldMine registry settings during installation, ie. GoldMine needs to be installed before Phone Manager.

For Phone Manager 2.1 it has changed and you can tick the app even if it isn't installed. Solves the problem for users such as yourself and for cases where GoldMine is working as a central server app rather than on the local PC.

Meantime your options are either:

- Remove and then reinstall Phone Manager.
- Get brave in the Registry and change the PhoneManager registry entry for GoldMine.

We use Goldmine in our office, one thing I not manage to get working (athough not really tried enough) is getting Goldmine to pop on answer. Currently if a call come in on a group i.e. sales the contact record pop on everybody screen, and if your away from your desk, you could end up with 15 - 30 contact records. Pop on answer would be a better for us.

Not sure if 2.1 will have the pop on answer feature.

I have changed the followig registry keys:
GoldMineAutoPop to a value of 1
GMServerPath to a value of C:\Program Files\goldmine\gmw6.exe

However the options are still greyed out in Phone Manager, is there another key I need to edit?

Without a Phone Manager 2.0 to hand that to the best of my knowledge should have done the trick.

Assuming you don't have Act! also selected as that will take precedence over GoldMine.

I've email myself at work to see if I can test persuading the box to ungrey (it should be grey given that I really don't have GoldMine). Will hopefully have some insight tomorrow.

Here's how to get Goldmine configured in 2.0

Add the following registry key (regedit) to

HKEY CLASSES ROOT

- I believe there should be a goldmine instance under here? If not, add it in the root as a new key and it will work fine!

- GmcomAPI.application
