If Exchange is behind a firewall, how can it accept mail from a gateway post office.

Thanks
Kenny

Rewording question.

We need to receive Email from a gatway postoffice that is outside a fire wall while our exchange server is behind the firewall.

Thanks
Kenny

Create a rule on you firewall so it accepts connections from the gateway postoffice IP using port 25 and targetting the IP of exchange server, depending on the configuration/brand of firewall it may be a new object or a mapping in the NAT table.

Configure the gateway PO to relay all mail to the IP of the firewall on port 25, the firewall should then let all mail through to the Exchange server, but without knowing what firewall it is I can' give you exact details.
