Hi to all,
I'am relatively new to Cisco world, and of course i run into a problem...

I have a Cisco 1841(ipsec) router, external IskraTel adsl(modem/router)configured to work in bridge mode.
I have googled A LOT, and tried many configurations but everything was unsuccesfull.

The point is to configure 1841(I have static ip) to dial via the modem. (It looks very simple :) , but not for me)

If ANYBODY can help me somehow, I'll appreciate it very much.

I think your best bet is to just get a WIC-1ADSL for your router...

The config is fairly easy. I have always had a hard time getting a router to work with adsl modems in bridge mode. Have you tried just hooking a crossover cable to the modem and letting the modem do all the PPPoE/PPPoA, instead of having it in bridge mode and configuring the router with a vpdn enable/vpdn group and a dialer interface? You just need
router(config-if)#ip add dhcp
on the interface that connects to the modem.

But I went through a little trouble on my 2620XM, and finally just broke down and got a WIC-1ADSL. No problems with it at all.

One thing to consider if this is what you are going to do---how fast is your adsl connection? Anything over 6 or 7MBps may not be supported on the WIC-1ADSL...

Hello
Please post your final conf. Also try to go into the modem configuration pages,to see if you can tell the modem to bridge.
Regards

Thanks for the reply,
First, because I live in Macedonia, buying from e-bay is inposible :(
and from local reselers the WIC-1ADSL is a bit expensive, around 300-400 $,
and second, the adsl is 10 MBps.
So i have nothing left exept to do something like it is. :(

Maybe it will sound stupid to you, but when i don't know it's better to ask,
if i leave the modem to do all the PPPoE, will i have any problems with VPN?

And one more thing, if you know any basic configuration of how to do like it is(with the modem in bridge mode) please send me to try.

Thanks in Advance

Depends on what IOS is on the router. Can you do

router(config)#vpdn enable

And also

router#sh ver
