Configure 2924XL port to another VLAN 1

I'm brand new to Cisco edge devices and I've got a switch on VLAN1 that I want to set port #23 to VLAN2. Can anyone give me the command line syntax I need using a laptop that's linked to the console? Any web references?

Additional information I left out above...I will connect port 23 from VLAN2 to a 10/100 hub at a troubleshooting bench and use it to connect to as many as 5 computers simultaneously. ________

Thanks...just for grins, what would change in the command syntax (if anything) if I were going to connect a single workstation to port 23 instead of a hub. ________

OK...then where do the terms "Span Tree" and "Port Fast" come from and what would warrant their use? I was under the impression (from my reading) that this had something to do with the type of device that would be connecting to the port. ________

Spanning Tree is a protocol that keeps switches from having a data loop. If there is a loop, it shuts down one of them by putting the port into "blocking" mode..

Portfast assumes there will NEVER be a switch on the port so it whacks two stages of the port startup process.. it cuts time from roughly 50 seconds to abot 10-15 seconds for the switch port to go live and forwarding traffic.
