Hi
is there a command or an existing script on a Unix server that can give you the hardware configuration of the machine, without rebooting.

I guess you need a different command or script on each and every UNIX platform... which one platform do you want to query? [sig][/sig]

sco-unix
thank you [sig][/sig]

ok, but it doesn't work, is hwconfig needs to be in the path ...?
thanks [sig][/sig]

for sure i'm log as root. but the command is not known.

For SCO Unix path is /etc/hwconfig. [sig][/sig]

hwconfig -h

Or look to the file /usr/adm/messages

This will show you your hardware profile from the last boot.

Hello everyone,
I'm very new to Unix. Using basic commands are comming clear to me. However, when I use certain commands, For instance, hwconfig, I know this will show some or all of the devices on your unix system. But, what I do not understand is when I call-up hwconfig -ch or hwconfig -h I have problems understanding the comments row of the hwconfig listing. Please help.
