Hi everyone, it's my first time with Tek Tips Forum. I hope I will find help with you guys. My problem is the following: with older BCM50 version, like 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, the reset procedure was simple. Pressing the reset button at the right time while the system was rebooting allowed us to enter in either Level 1 or Level 2 reset. But with the latest version, 6.0, the status leds are not flashing in the same manner as they use to with older version. And the documention for that new version mentions a completely different procedure to access the reset state using Putty on the OAM port of the BCM50. But obviously this method requires a user name and password to connect. I guess this is the same user and password used with the Business Element Manager. My problem is that I have lost that information and this is the reason why I need to reset the configuration to default. So I'm screwed. My question to you is : does anybody know how to reset the configuration of a version 6.0 BCM50 in order to put the password back to default or any other way to find what would the actual password be ?? Thanks

You would typically call Avaya support and have them assist you resetting the password using both the password tool and Avaya's password of the day.

I think its best to just re image the drive and restore from backup (except "security settings") but other will chime in with some other methods, either way its "work".

Yeah, this is something i was told to do but I've also been told that Avaya were not giving those password of the day anymore !!! Reality or myth I don't know. But anyway if I could avoid the cost for that service from them ... Thanks anyway

Yeah, I guess this will be the only solution for me. Thanks
