Im running SQL 2008, and I have just migrated all my datafiles (including all system dbs) to new LUNs. I was able to change all the paths from the original install to point to the new replacement LUN with the exception of one. In SQLServer Configuration Manager, for MSSQLServer Service on the Advanced tab, there is a setting called "Data Path" which still shows the old path of X:\...\MSSQL. This needs to change to E:\...\MSSQL'''. I want to avoid mucking with the registery, so my question is Where\How do I change this path to the new one?

Unfortunately that was not the value I was trying to change, as I indicated this value only appears in the Advanced tab of the Configuration Manager. The Default database file location is probably one of the easiest to find and change. I ended up just going with the registry setting change which was easier than I had thought since it didnt require a reboot or a SQL restart to set the key value.
