I would like to configure my Mac Mini to host a few small java applications on the web. I can run the apps on Tomcat on my macbook pro but my big question is, to serve them on the web over port 80, do I have to use the mod_jk connector ?

I have been tryin to install apache, tomcat, postgres, and mod_jk using Macports/Darwinports but there is sparse documentation on the configuration for that setup and it's been problematic.

I am considering a native apache, tomcat install, but I'm still stuck wondering if mod_jk is necessary or if there is even an alternative to allow apache to talk to tomcat.
