I need help configuring an ISDN PRI TIE Trunked to CISCO Catalyst 6000 Gateway. So far I have configured loop in ld 17, Configured DCH in ld 17, Configured route in ld 16 and configured trunks in ld 14. Also configured CDP/DSC. The problem is that I am able to complete calls via 4-digit dialing between the switches but I can not make an outbound call from the Cisco. Nor, can I make an incoming call to the CISCO. Only 4 didgit dialing works.

I am using NI-2 Interface. Not sure if M1 should be NET or USR?

Any ideas?

As far as I know, you can't configure TIE lines using the NI2 protocol?

Someone told me that if you set the protocol at SL100 on the PBX and the Cisco to DMS100 that it would work. I have not done that yet, not sure.

hi phone

the numbers in cisco is a part of your did numbers from outside?.check in pbx if you are alow to go from outside route to cisco route, using art 0 on all routes?.and chech your frl to ncos.are you using inac on route from cisco?then chech frl to ncos on outbound route the call from cisco will arive with ncos 0.

what's the status of the dch in ld 96? One end of the link needs to net and the other usr. if both are set the same then the link won't establish.

If the link is showing as established then try dialing the acod of the m1 route and then a extn number on the cisco.

bpg1 - where would you find the prompt for ART and does the cisco have to have a route programmed through it to delivery calls out to the pbx. Thanks.

Ok, this is the request from the CISCO group.
They are wanting Station to Station Calls (4-digit dialing)this is working between both systems. Cisco CM have route patterns that send 4 digits, (e.i. 1xxx, 5xxx and 6xxx) stations are dialed. This covers all stations at site A.

Outbound Calls to Site B are handled by a route pattern that sends 8xxxx to the M1 Opt 81c. Cisco CM is looking for the M1 to accept the 5 digit string and send the call across the Tie Line to Site B and terminate it on the desired station.

Outbound Local Calls out the PSTN (Local) are handled by a route pattern that sends 9xxxxxxxxxx to the M1. Cisco CM is looking for the M1 to accept the 11 digits, strip the leading 9 and send the remaining 10 to the PSTN.

Outbound Long Distance Calls to the LD network are handled by a route pattern that sends 91xxxxxxxxxx to the M1. Cisco CM is looking for the M1 to accept the digits, strip the leading 9 and send the remaining to the PSTN.

International Calls are handled similar to LD calls, except the 011 is sent to the PSTN

All Incoming calls to the Cisco CM, should be received by the M1 and sent to the Cisco Trunk Group.

Basically, the Cisco CM doesn't want to have its own in/outbound trunking facilities, it wants the M1 to do all the work. It only wants to dial digits and let the M1 do the rest.

QUESTION: Is this a logical request? Can the M1 accept these digits and know what it needs to strip to complete the call? Do the cicso CM need to have some kind of in/outbound trunking setup in its programming? Also, if the DID numbers (CDP pointed to Cisco CM route) reside on the M1, why are incoming calls to these DIDs not working? What am I missing???

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

hi phone

the prompt inac on route does the trick,if you set it to yes the ac1=9 will be stripped, and i supose that your spn`s will do the rest for local, national and internatiol calls.

do you have 5 digit on the meridian since cisco are sending 5 digit?

bpg1 Thanks for your help...the AC2 in the M1 is set to 8. 8 is the location code for the followed by the 4 digit ext.

you can turn on dchannel messaging in 96 and watch what is be sent in both directions:
[ENL MSGI (DCH#)]
[ENL MSGO (DCH#)]
THAT SHOULD LET YOU SEE THE LEADING DIGITS
BY THE WAY CISCO CAN STRIP DIGITS OUT BOUND

???? not sure what you mean by RDB for PSTN (help)

bpg1 4-digit dialing both ways are connecting. External Incoming calls to the Cisco are connecting.

Cisco CM can not make any Local, LD, or location code calls. The M1 does not know what to do with the digits being sent to it.

9 972
9 214, etc

9 1 xxx xxx xxxx

Location code 8xxxx

Do I need to create a DMI table for the route or something?

CISCO MUST DELETE THE 8 ON CDP CALLS TO YOU
SET NCOS ON TIE LINES HIGH ENOUGH TO ALLOW DIALING LONG DISTANCE

hi phone

rdb for pstn=your t1 connection,i can see you have frl set 0-0 what do ncos 0 do in ld 49,also you have a dmi set to 0 on rdb to cisco what does it do.also check your net setnings in ld 15. ld 22 prt net.and could you send me a print out of d-canal monitoring in ld 96 of the outbound and in bound.

Phonedudette,

The M1 should get the clocking from the gateway. (you're the user or ext) Here is my config for our 11.
Check the ISDN-flip-chan-flag on the router the statement needs to be there.

I'd be interested in knowing if it's currently there.

Also, the interface cable from the Nortel to the gateway, did you use a cross over cable or flip the pair in the RJ45?

Perhaps I should include the ADAN config..

EJPTELECOM I have the M1 at USR and External Clocking. Currently the only problem I am having is that the Cisco CM is unable to make outgoing local or long distance etc. Do you have any ideas on getting this to work. Also, I see you are using SL100 Interface on the M1, what is the interface on the Cisco side.

Also, I have been told that I need QSIG package installed before the M1 will the the dialed digits coming from the Cisco and rout as needed. e.i. if Cisco dials 9 972 555 1212, the M1 needs to know where to route the call.

Thank You, to all of you for your continued support with this issue.
