I have tried everything to get the firewall to allow ftp. I was originaly just for testing using standard port 21 but even that won't work.

The policy looks fine I have been over it many times. Is there perhaps another port required other than 21

many thanks

Hey Zoldy,
I am no pro, but have your tried scanning your firewall with NMAP? It might give you an indication to the availability of the port and condition of the policy. I had a few issues with MIPs. Are you using a MIP to forward the request to a protected resource on the trust zone?
Let me know.
Hope this helps.

Probably your ISP had block the port 21 ???

Try to use another port just for test...

With NS5XP do the following steps:

1. Create a VIP for Port 21
a. Network > Interface > Untrust > Edit
b. Click VIP link
c. Click New VIP Service
d. Virtual IP: untrust_ip
e. Virtual Port: 21
f. Map to Service: FTP (21)
g. Map to IP: ftp_server_ip
h. Select Ok

2. Policy
a. Soure Address: Any
b. Destination Address: Global:VIP::1
c: Service: FTP
d. Action: Permit

Hope this helps

Paul
