Conference setup 1

Hello everyone, and thanks for all the help in the past. Today I come with a new question.

First my setup. I have two IPO 500 V2 both running 8.1 in a SCN. I have Voicemail Pro 7.0 (35). All the desk phones are 5420. Now the question.

I want to setup a button on all the phones that says "Conference 1." Someone here would hit "Conference 1" and wait for other people to join. Now when someone calls in and wants to join the conference the receptionist would hit TRANSFER then hit the Conference 1 button. The next person calls in and the receptionist would do the same thing over and over. Now it is important that this works over the SCN as well.

I do not want to setup direct dial in because I don't have that many lines (13 total POT lines) and most of those are in our dial down numbers.

Is this possible?

Not in front of a computer right now, but something like this might work for you:

- Program the button to VM Collect/ "Conf-1"
- Make a Short Code $55501 / conf meet me /...
- Make VMPro module Conf-1 and have it transfer to $55501

The $ is for extra security (this is the Tampa/Sara system, right?) so it will be impossible to dial in on the conference directly from a phone without the button.

You can throw more things in there as well, but this should work as a start.

And you should upgrade the VMPro to 8.1. Make a backup first
Maybe that was the issue with remote relay triggering....

Beware of the POTS lines, you may not have conferencemeetme capabilities with POTS.

Thanks you Gunnaro!! I will give that a shot. And thank you for remembering me. I never did get the relay to work so I went out and bought a Viking c-2000B. I'll install and play with that Monday.
