So we're learning about conference recording on our system and what I've found thru searching here and on the web is that you need a certain version of IPO to do it, and it is not automatic - you must start it manually and you must start it manually each time a new caller comes in to the conference or else the recording will get cutoff at that point. After learning all this the hard way, one thing that seems not to make sense is that after you configure a button to start the recording manually on an extension, when you press that button to record a conference call, I would expect the system to announce that this call is being recorded to the newest caller listening or to all callers each time you start the recording. Otherwise, it seems pointless that it is a manual rather than automatic process. By starting it manually, it gives the initiator the opportunity to announce recording so the other callers know. We successfully recorded a conference call but there was no announcement. Am I missing something? How do I get that announcement? Is there really no way to record conference calls automatically? It seems that it could get a bit crazy if, for example, 10 people are calling in, perhaps several minutes apart, and you have to press it each time. The initiator may forget and then the rest of the call recording gets cut. (a record in the ContactStore search is displayed but the recording time is "00:00" and there is no .wav file - also, the original call gets cut off once the conference button is pressed)

So we're learning about carriage returns on our system and what I've found thru searching here and on the web is that you need a keyboard to do it, and it is not automatic - you must manually press the Enter key and you must manually press the Enter key each time you want a new line in to the text or else it all becomes an unreadable block of words.

Joking aside, there are plenty of ways for the IP Office to do automatic recording and it shouldn't be necessary to manually restart the recording every time someone joins a conference (you should just get the AOCR warning each time). SO have you checked that the recording warning is enabled?

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
