Consider the following situation:

People need an emergency meeting but the board room is booked out. So they pack into someone's office, yelling at an regular IP phone (say IP2004). But the other side can barely hear them.

I know IP2033 (or Polycom) is good for conference but not for daily office use.

Is there a way or a device good for such a situation? Maybe a conference module plugged in to IP phone's headset port?

Thanks for your input!

Nortel doesn't make one

If you have an analog line we use Polycom 500 for this purpose. They are small (about half the size) and we haven't fielded any complaints about them as an office conference phone. Good luck to you.
