Hi again :)

IP Office v2.1
We have our conference call lines for the company and individuals set in the 100-199 range. We use 100 as a general company meeting conference line. Today, somebody conferenced in 2 calls from their phone just before the meeting and it automatically used 100, which forced us to use a different line for the company meeting (emails and calls to remote folks, PIA). Is there a way to control this behavior, i.e. it will use a different range.

Thanks again!
Mike

You can set a shortcode for this

111
conference meet me
111
line id 0

When you transfer a call to 111 then it will be in a conference

100 is the default the system uses for conference meet me

Thanks tlpeter... I think I am getting confused about the difference between Conference Meet Me and Conference Add...

So, should Conference Meet Me be the ad hoc conference range and Conference Add be the static conference numbers assigned to the users?

Thanks again for your help.
Mike

Conference add is used to place a caller in the conference
Conference meet me can be used for an incoming call route for example
Both can do what you need

I prefere the meet me

Even 111 is close to the default range used by IP Office (100 upwards) so best to go much higher.

And if you have a system short code where users can specify any number they like there's still a risk of someone barging in on the wrong conference.

You can use names (in " " quote marks) as the conference numbers which means those particular conferences can only be accesses using the correct specific short code number and won't get automatically used by the IP Office.
