I have 2 facilities with Norstar MICS. I tried at both locations to initiate a conference call with 2 other people outside of phone system. I would assume that you make the first call, hit the conference feature, make the 2nd call, hit the conference button again and bridge all 3 phones together. What happens is that the first call is made, the conference feature button is pushed, the display reads "make second call" but it does not place first call on hold or give dial-tone for 2nd call. Is this a problem or is there a feature that needs to be activated in the system programming that we do not have turned on?

Press a line key or Itcm 9 out to initiate call then press conf again then call on hold.

Confrence is F 3

When your on a call..make a second call..press feat 3..press the button where the 1st cll is on hold to create a confrence
Only the person establishing the confrnce can process the confrnce

Make sure you have at least 2 intercom paths

Gabilini, you need to make sure the 1st call gets put on hold before you can conference a 2nd caller. Do as FletcherP has described and you should have no problem, those procedures will automatically put your 1st caller on hold.

Thanks to all of you, that certainly did the trick.
