Good day all

Please can someone help me with setting up Conference Call Recording.

Someone in the conferenc needs to press the the record button, assuming you have them programmed and have VM Pro of course :)

Is there anyway to do a auto call recording on the conference call?

Due to the requirement in most places to announce the call is being recorded and the system doesn't know how many should join I think that's why it can only be initiated manually, or they just wanted to avoid possible multiple recordings of the conference, either way it needs to be done manually AFAIK :)

We have VM recording on our conference facility, this facility has no internal users and conference participants will always come in on the external ISDN lines.

The way we did it to ensure that only one recording occurred was to use two DDIs one for the conference organiser and one for all the other participants. We then set the system to record the Organisers DDI number only which then records the whole conference.

The trigger options for automatic call recording are call to/from a particular user, on a particular line, to a particular hunt group or using a particular account code. So sadly no automatic recording for a conference unless you can make one of those conditions apply.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Having 2 DDIs is not a solution where the moderator is an internal extn, unless they don't mind incurring call costs, it's pretty easy for the
moderator/organiser to press a button really :)

Could maybe throw something together that does the same fancy tricks as the 911 call recording.
Make two shortcodes *5551000, and 5551000, both with conf meet me of 1000.
Setup an account code with call recording for 5551000, setup the autorecord module as you would in the other thread.
Internal users dial 5551000, while external, through a bridge or auto attendant, dial *5551000, that way you don't get overlapping, multiple recordings. Might work.

I personally don't see how dialling a code which is different than everyone else is dialling is any easier than pressing a single button, either way they need to remember to do something, the auto record may work and a good idea to try, but it's like doing a 2 mile "shortcut" when the journey is only a mile :)

amriddle because automated is always better it makes sense to program a bit more.

remember taking the human factor out always makes our work easier afterwards.
People are the biggest issue we have because they do things that we don't even think are possible and break stuff by dialing numbers we would not even be able to dream up, so if we can avoid relying on someone to push a button then that is the way to go.

Why not route the conf call via a virtual user with call recording enabled?

e.g xfer the call to VU500, then forwards to shortcode xxx / conf meetme.

should work.
