I have an Avaya ACS Rel.6 installed in my home. When my daughter is on the phone she likes to make conference calls with her friends. My question is. Is there anyway for me to pick up another extension while she is on the phone with her conference call and tell her to get off the phone.I've tried a couple of times and cannot I can not join the conversation. Privacy is not enabled. Thanks

The conference call will overide the lack of privacy assigned.

This is your system, in your home, and your daughter; this is kind of a sleazy fix, because it can be easily abused: Loop the phone line, or the voice pair of her extension to another CO port, but DON'T assign it to any extensions. When you NEED to barge in, dial Intercom, 8 and the CO line port, and you will bridge onto the coversation.

Personally, I value privacy more, and suggest you simply dial her extension and make it ring, or put a "signal" button on your extension for hers, which will make her phone "beep" differently, so that she gets the message.

or you could just unplug her extension from the processor when you want her off .

I dont mind her being on the phone. And it's ok that she is on the phone with her friends(she is only 10) I just didn't like that I wasn't able to get on the line and tell her after 45 min.,its time to get off the phone. I could always disconnect the phones but its not that bad yet.I'll give her a couple more years
Thanks

Hi mmico,
I feel for you. I have three daugthers and a Partner system. I bang on the door and give her 1 minute. I then unplug her. I've done it twice and they all understand. Actually one time I just did a system reset from my phone (lazy). It achieved the same thing. [smile]
It is my system, my phone line and it will not be abused.
