conecting XI to Oracle

We are using OLE DB to connect to Oracle and it takes time when I ran my report using parameters.
Is there a better way to connect to Oracle?

Using the native Oracle drivers is usually faster than using the OLE DB drivers. You don't say which version of Crystal you're using, but Oracle already should be an option when you set up your db connection.

Hi,
The 'native' driver should be listed as 'Oracle Server'.
For XI your Oracle client must be 9i or higher, I believe.

If you have Crystal's latest DataDirect ODBC drivers for Oracle, they are very fast - they use 'wire protocol' for a direct connection to the database, no Oracle client software needed...
