Hello all,

I need to print vertical lines in my report (created with Crystal Reports 10), and I'm using line objects.

I need to suppress the lines based on some condition. How can I do that?

Thanks.

In the Properties for the Line, tick 'Supress', click on the formula button, and enter your criteria.

Thanks MrTBC.
Line objects don't have a formula button. Any other suggestions?

I've had all sorts of trouble with suppressing lines in a report. The best wasy i've found is to insert the line into its own section and suppress the section based on the condition, or depending on how your report is displayed, have you tried conditionally suppressing the bottom border on the field.

Yes, I thought about that - but it will probably only really work for hoziontal lines.

You could use a text box and add a border to the right or left and use the formula area to conditionally suppress it.

Or, you could create the lines in a page header section that is stretched the length of the page and formatted to "underlay following sections". Then you could conditionally suppress this section.

It will only work for horizontail lines i'm afraid. Lines in Crystal are a real pain, I was hoping that they would do something about it in XI but its still the same things would be a lot easier if you could conditionally suppress a line.

There's not really a lot you can do with vertical lines apart from using borders or putting a text box over the top of the field, with the borders on and the conditionally suppress that.

Thank you all guys...
I used lb's solution.
