Crystal Reports version 8.

I have created an invoice and I am trying to limit the number of detail items printed per page to a certain number. In the section expert I have put a conditional statement in the Formula Editor that says
Recordnumber>23. This works fine for the first page of the invoice but every page following it has only one detail printed on the page. Is there a better way to limit the details per page?

Thanks for the help,
Deanna

That is because the first record on the second page is record number 24. RecordNumber does not reset every page.

if the details are all the same size, and you have no groups, you could experiment with the size of the details section and the page footer to get only 23 to fit.

You can also build a counter formula that you can reset at the top of each page, and use this in your condition as you described. To do this you have to use the old fashioned technique for running totals. This is described in the FAQ on running totals under the 'three formula' technique. Reset your variable in the page header and when it gets to 23 use it to kick out a new page. Ken Hamady
