Hi all,

Want to do something here but am unsure how to do it. I've got a relatively simple report that has a single detail line and two groups. What I'd like to do is conditionally color the background of the outermost of the groups but only when the user has not collapsed the view down to where only that outermost group is showing. Coloring it so that it stands out as a total line if there are detail or inner group lines showing but not if the outermost group is the only thing showing. How can I do that?

Thanks.

This is version specific. In v9 you have access to a 'DrillDownLevel' function that tells you what level of drill down you are at.

In previous versions you may find it easier to prompt the user for a 'detailed' or 'summary' version of the report as a parameter and conditionally format the report based on their response. I know this isn't the same as a true drill down but may suit your needs.

Steve - I think it is called "Drilldowngrouplevel."

So you would go to format section->group 1 header->color->background color->x+2 and enter something like:

if drilldowngrouplevel > 1 then cryellow else crwhite

I'm not sure about the number in the formula, since I don't have CR 9.0, but 1 might be correct.
