Hi

I have a cross tab report which I wish the user to select via a 'parameter' the format to use. I can suppress the printing of fields/headers based on the supplied parameter value OK. As I want to export to Excel I also want to suppress the column itself as well as the value, otherwise I get an empty column on exporting. Is this possible?

Thanks

Instead of using suppression, create a formula for your column field:

if {table.field} = {?parm} then {table.field}

You should run the crosstab with all parm options selected the first time. Then go into the crosstab expert, select the column field->group options->specified order and add all options from the dropdown list. Then click on the "Others" tab and choose "Discard all others". This will eliminate the column that includes all those not chosen by the parm selection when the report is run for a limited selection of options.
