A report is produced using REPORT FORM, specifying an frx report layout file. It is broken into sections (grouped on field tSection). The group header for tSection prints a caption for the subsequent detail lines.

I would like to keep the section header on the same page as at least the first line of details within that section - or eject the page if there is not enough space. Can I do that, and what is the best way of doing it?

Thanks.

Exactly that option exists, just look into your reports group definitions:

Whether that will be cm or mm or inch will depend on your general settings. You should know how much space is needed to show at least a detail and the group header doesn't stay alone.

Don't pay attention to the "Group on", that will be whatever you group on, of course (tSection).

Bye, Olaf.
