Hi there,

I'm looking to change rows within my database based upon a date in that row, compared to 'today's' date when opened.

Example:

I have an actions log, and i want to see which actions (all on individual rows) are past their due date, and highlight these using conditional formatting. If possible,i woudl like a button to highlight these or not.

I've never done anything like this before so all help is greatyl appreciated,

many thanks,
Neil

You can build condition basing on formula, TODAY() returns current date.
Further extension can consist AND formula, where first argument refers to a cell with TRUE/FALSE that will mask matching dates (second argument).

Hi Combo,

thanks for the reply.

I'm completely lost though - do you have an example?

many thanks,
Neil

Have you checked out HELP on Conditional Formatting?

A CF formula might be something like...
[tt]
=$A2<Today()+20
[/tt]
where column A is your date to compare.

Skip,

Neil,

Looking ahead to the second part of your question (turning the conditional formatting on by the press of a button), Once you get CF working, turn on your macro recorder (Tools > Macro > Record New Macro).

Go through the steps of creating the desired Conditional Formatting.

Observe the code that was created in the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) by pressing [Alt]+[F11].

Post the code into a new thread in forum707.
