I am currently stuck on this one minor detail of my report. I am trying to count the specific instances of a data value in one column of my report.

Report is grouped by Day of Week
Column to count is Block_Owner
Possible vaules in Block_Owner column: Neuro, Optha, H&N, Gen, Gyn.

I want to count how many time Neuro is the value. I have looked that the conditional count function but each time I attempt to add criteria like "Count ({V_BLOCK_DETAIL.BLOCK_OWNER}, {V_NI_RECORD.PROCEDURE_DAY_OF_WEEK}, {V_BLOCK_DETAIL.BLOCK_OWNER} = "NEURO") crystal wants to treat that as another grouping field when that is the condition I want to count.

Any help appreciated. If I have not included any necessary info, please let me know.

Insert->Field Objects->right click Running Totals and select New

Place Block_Owner as the field to count, and in the evaluate use a formula place:

{table.Block_Owner} = "Neuro"

Change the Reset to the day group.

Thank you for the speedy response. That was what I was wanting.

I really appreciate it.
