Here is the idea:

Menu Item:
Cheese Burger

Condiment:
French Fries

This is the basic selection that works fine because there is no charge for french fries.

But now here is the problem:

Same menu item

Condiment:
Onion Rings

Needs an upcharge of 50 cents. I can charge the 50 cents but the program refuses to charge tax for a condiment in this selection.

To compensate for the time being I removed the buttons and assigned them under a food prep- addon space that allows me to charge tax because they are separate menu items now. But this is very inconvenient for the wait-staff and I would like to get the whole thing under control.

Thanks!

Hi,

This is on the basis that the Burger & fries etc are a FIXED PRICE MEAL

1. Go to the Menu Item Class that is used for condiments and COPY & PASTE it.
2. Rename it PRICED CONDIMENTS and make the ONION RINGS use this new MI class
3. Modify this MI class to be using the correct TAX CLASS on the main form.
4. on PRICE CHARGES tab tick -Prices are Upcharges, and consider enabling Price Levels 2-10 if the rings are SIZED (Small, Med, Lge)
5. Check the Print Class

If the menu item is not a FIXED PRICE MEAL then do all the above but dont tick the Upcharges. To enable FPM you must also enable Seat Handling.

I'll try this out tomorrow when I get to work. Thanks a ton! I'll be back with the results.
