I have several text boxes on a report that are made up of concatinated fields and strings but in the middle of this I need 1 word to be bold & underlined. Everything I've tried has left the word in the same format as the rest of the main text box. I need to find a way to make just this one word different from the rest.

Sorry, but not as part of a concatenated string. Whatever formatting you do will apply to the entire string. You'll have to fudge it in another manner.

Cheers,
Bill

Check out this thread( thread703-842701 ) as CosmoKramer has posted a link that provided a way to do this. Good luck.

Scriverb,
THANKS!! The thread you pointed me to did the trick. I had to break my string up into separate lines because it wasn't wrapping around but I can live with that. This is most helpful and I gave you a star for pointing me in the right direction. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the star, but really CosmoKramer is the brains behind this. He made the original reference to the link to the database code and I think also that he posted a database there that addresses the same thing. There are three and the third looks like his name.

I really like this code though as I can see lots of uses for it in the future. You can set any of the visual format properties in code with this even though they may no show in the original code provided. If you can set them manually in design for a control you can also set them using the VBA code. They can be seen in the dropdown that is provided with you begin typing the code for items like .FontBold Good luck with your project.
