In the MS ACCESS PC environment, I have tried to concatenate two strings using what I thought was the proper SQL syntax. The error message I received indicated that ACCESS doesn't recognize || as proper SQL syntax. Is this true, or must there have been something else wrong with my syntax? I'd be grateful for an example of concatenation code that works in ACCESS.

Thanks.

try + (plus sign)
Oracle uses || for concatenation, all? the others use + Dickie Bird
db@dickiebird.freeserve.co.uk

or use the & (ampersand) Dickie Bird
db@dickiebird.freeserve.co.uk

Thanks, Dickie Bird. I'll give them both a try. I'm grateful.

Thanks, CD12. I'm grateful for the reference. That's a truly useful site.
