Hello!
ComWin 3.0.25
I need to conect to hipath 4300.
This software allow to administrate hipath 4300?
Regards

plug into your system and do a site prep and you will get it

Sorry, I do not understand, what do you want to say...

On the 4000, which I assume is the same, you connect the system to your LAN and give it an IP for administration as part of the install process. So you go into Internet Explorer and type in the administration IP address of your system and it will come up to a web page that has some links on it. One of them is Client Preparation. That is a 6-step process that helps you configure your browser to interact with the system - makes sure you have the right version of Java, loads security certificates, applet cache and some other stuff.

After you go through that process you will be able to login to the system for administration. Once you get there you will see a link for Expert Mode, and if you go into that it will install comwin on your system. Then you can use comwin for anything depending on how you set it up.

Hello!
But if I already have comwin in PC?
Could I connect to 4000 without this process?
( I have administrator password, and i know ip adress).

Try to telnet to the IP address that you typically use for Assistant. Login using the same username & password that you use in Assistant. If this does not work, then you are probably on V5, where telnet is blocked. In that case, use a SSH program such as "putty" (available on internet - putty.org). Launch putty to the IP address of Assistant and try to login as described above.
If successful, type the following: dipas_batch
This should provide access to RMX so that you can use the AMOs.
To exit and return to Unix, type the following (case sensitive): FI

I'm sorry - I know what you mean regarding having Comwin on the PC already, but I've never taken the time to figure out how to connect to my switch directly from Comwin - I always login to the web portal and tell it to start from there because I'm too lazy to figure out how to reconnect it. I know you can do it because the techs do it all the time, but I never took the time to figure it out. Maybe I'll ask tonight - we're doing an SMR upgrade on my 4000 and I'm sure we'll be sitting around for a while with nothing better to do!

The information above I found very handy though for when I just need to make a quick forwarding change or name change or something - very slick!
