Recently, a few computers on my domain have simply renamed themselves. The new name of the computer is displayed at login and is recognized in DNS. This name, however, is not the one that we gave the computer when it was configured. It has been on the domain for over a year (closer to two) but this issue just popped up. There have been about 5 computers over the past week that have done this and we can't find anything that's making it happen.
The domain is 2000 native and the workstations are all XP Pro. There are hundreds of computers on the network and there are quite a few which have been unaffected in the OU that these computers are in.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.

We've looked in the logs and there's been nothing unusual going on. The network is not connected to the outside world so we're not overly concerned about outside world. Users cannot use any external media (USB/Serial/CD, etc.) so the only way that it could have been changed other than the rare however not impossible virus, would be using an adminitrative account.
