I recently got a portable storage unit and when I was installing it and formatting the drive I think I mapped over the same E: drive as my CDR/CDRW!!!!!

Removed the storage unit... now only C: is there, but no CDR recognized by the PC.

(CDR is running and when I put in WIN98 install CD on startup it runs, but in Win environment no drive recognized.)

I don't know how to create a map to a CDR/CDRW drive....

I Also don't have the installation CD for the CDR/CDRW, nor do I remeber who makes it!!!1

AAAIIGGGGHHHH!!!!

I am about 3 hours and no patients left/...

PLEASE HELP!!!

go to control panel

and do find new hardware

it must find on its own

see what it tells

Thank you for your responses....

But here is the dilemma....

I try to search for hardware to install but I don't know what my correct drivers are for my CDR/CDRW drive.

I don't have a CD that came with it, and even if I did I can't navigate to it because I have no drive mapped for a CD.

I guess I need to know how to map a new connection to my CDR/CDRW drive.

thnx.

FYI..
I fixed it myself....

For future generations, if you install a removable disc drive where your cdrom is supposed to be all you have to do is uninstall the removable disc software go to Device Manager, find your cdrom, select properties under settings re-map to E: restart your PC...

Your done.

Simple problem easy fix.

-Peace.
