Okay, I need help PLEASE!!
My genius brother broke the cd-rom drive by shoving back into my dad's computer too hard and the motor was freaking out etc... Instead of attempting to fix it, I decided that I would just remove it and install my cd-rom from my own computer into my dads computer... BIG MISTAKE. I'm dumb so I didn't realize that it wouldnt work... drivers... etc... okay so the computer freaked out and in the meantime my brother fixed the broken cd-rom and I attempted to reinstall the original one and now the computer wont read it. The power works, all cords are connected correctly as far as I can see, and I don't know why the computer says, "there is no cd-rom drive connected to this computer." And its not just the drive either cuz I also hooked up mine and it won't read that one either!!
I have no idea what I did but my dad is gonna kill me!!
HELP!! PLEASE!!!

Hi,

Don't panic! But do please give some more information:

1) Some computer specs (e.g., processor, speed, motherboard) and the OS version (Windows? Which one?)

2) Did the error message come before or after you loaded the OS?

Normally switching a CD-ROM should not cause major problems. Check to see if your CD-ROM is recognized by the computer's BIOS - if it is, this is a good sign.

Once you write back with your answers I (or someone else here) should be able to help you more.
Cheers,
--Michael
