Folks - I am stumped on this one.

BCM400 with 3.7

I have the BCM connected to the network with the supplied IP address info from IT. I connect the phone, it comes up fine. At this point I plug the patch cord from the computer to the computer port on the back of the I2004. I get a connectivity light on the NIC card, but a get limitted or no connectivity on the PC. I can not get out on the internet or even ping the IP address from the PC. The customer IT guy can Ping the BCM from the server so we know it is connected to the network. I have tried all possible setting and still nothing. I have tried several I2004's and getting same issue.

I talked to my vendor and they told me they think it is the release on the phones. They are NTDU92BA70, My vendor believes this to be the case.

I am hoping someone can shed some light onto this for me. I also vendor is listening as well.

All the patches have been installed as well.

I do not know that IP adress we are using DHCP from their network. So what ever the phone is assigned during bootup.

Here's a question - if you unplug the phone and connect your PC to the cable, does your PC get an IP address? If so, I'm going to guess that the IT guys have some type of port based security turned on that only allows one MAC address per switchport. This is to keep people from plugging hubsd in, or plugging into the backs of IP phones, etc. Have them check the config on the data switches.

NTDU92 is a phase 2 phone - newest their is. It's not a vintage thing.

Yes my PC will get an IP Address. I will check with the IT Dude in the Morning. Thanks for the input.

Also worth checking the following

1) chech what LAN switch is capable of providing e.g 100 Full Duplex.

2) Set phone to same value (not auto). Phone will do 100 full.

3) see if your IT will fix the port at 100 full also.

4) set your PC for same value.

5) Check for realtek ethernet controller in PC, if so download latest driver or get a new NIC for the PC. Realtek NICs have caused me real issues and lots of software suppliers wont support their software if you use one.

I thank everyone for their input. The issue was they a had VLAN. The IT guy was not aware of. So they created a whole new VLAN just for the BCM and IP Phones. Thanks agin folks for you help.
