A windows 2000 pro computer suddenly shuts down and upon roboot nothing seen on the monitor and was wandering what is the cause and any suggestion to get the system working

Does anything work, i.e., fans and lights?

Ski, I opened the pc and checked all cables and the power supply and reboot the system but this time, it gave me a message about ntldr not found.I used the recovery console and copied copy from the CD to the root. I started the system and this time the error message was ntdetec.com not found so i copied that using the same procedure above
When i started the system, it gave a message invalid boot.ini booting from c:\winnt and the sytem booted but I realised I have to build the boot.ini file for the system
Anyway, my question is it appears from the tone of the error messages, these files appears to have been deleted because if it was corrupted, then when I tried to copy, it would have ask me whether to overwrite the existing file but rather just copied it
From my explanation, do you too believe the files was deleted by somebody accidentally or intentionally
The reason why I am asking is certian users were told not to use that system. This is a stand alone pc not on a network Any opinion of how these three files not found

Someone may have deleted them.

sounds like you have a corrupt boot sector.
How to Recover From a Corrupt NTFS Boot Sector

if you have access to another computer you can copy to a floppy:
How To Create a Boot Disk for an NTFS or FAT Partition in Windows XP

Recovering Windows NT After a Boot Failure on an NTFS Drive

this may help but is not your symptoms:
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing: \system32\drivers\ntfs.sys" error message in Windows XP Service Pack 2

this issue can also happen if the partiton table is corrupt and the primary partition is no longer active

good luck
