Computer screen flashes and then turn off can anyone help?

I have a running system I've just built. it works fine for a while, but suddenly the picture start to come and go and then the computer would turn off by itself. I'm thinking I should change the power supply or it might even be a memory problem, which i've just bought.

Can anyone help?

Are you sure that the cooling system is working properly? It could be shutting itself down. Check BIOS to see if the temp range is correct. You may have it set too low.

I had this issue just after moving house.

Set my rig up, and was ready to go.. Power On.

Walked away for a few seconds, and heard it power down. Thought it might be a fuse/socket issue, so tried it elsewhere.. same issue.

Finally decided to crack open the case, and found that the heatsink to my CPU had become loose. Just popped it back on and all was well!
