I have Win2k on a P4 with Intel Gll45y motherboard with an automatic power off on shutdown supported by my ATX casing. I have installed a Creative Vista Webcam and when I shutdown the pc with this cam attached to the USB it automatically restarts ! When detached it shutsdown and powers off properly.

I have set my BIOS power options to STAY OFF always when shutdown.

Any ideas on how to fix this ? I have this crappy user whos on my back....Please help.

If you are using Windows XP, and your mainboard is USB 2.0 then it is a known issue with creative.

If not, post back, there are other common causes for this also.

The fix is to install the XP service pack ...the link to the Creative site is below and you can click to find the service pack as well.

Click on Webcameras, then webcam and then webcam USB.
THEN search for SID4705 from the page you are taken to...its at the bottom of the page.
