Hi,
I have a computer that will join the domain fine. But I also need the local administrators group to include the domain users. I try to go to control panel then go to administrative tools then computer management then groups then double click on the administrators group. when i'm in there it shows under locate (or something like that) the computer name. not the server.il.us domain. it won't let me add a group from the domain. it logs on fine to the domain. but due to software problems i need the local administrators group to include domain users. what am i doing wrong? I would apprecieate any help.

Thanx in advance,
Michael

For the record, this is a bad idea. Any software that does not function correctly as a normal user is generally crap.

Anyway, when you click the locations button, are you unable to see the domain listed?

mlichstein is correct. You should fix the software first, then worry about the domain problem. Are you working on a server or client? (I once had a server go bad, and the only way the users could authenticate was to give them the admin password. I managed to get it fixed, but it wasn't pretty.) You don't want users with admin rites. Good luck.

I think I might be in the wrong group. It is a Windows XP Professional. When I click on locations....all I see is the computer name. I wish somone could help me.

I CAN'T FIX THIS PROBLEM AT THE TIME>>>I MUST HAVE DOMAIN USERS AS LOCAL COMPUTER ADMINS

Thanks

Thanx in advance,
Michael
