i've done a computer and ip-adresse change on my sccs 4.2.

now, i've got the following problem. the client is unable to receive historical data reports. everything else is workong fine on the client (real time, scripts, users, skillsets....)

the event browser is sending the following event:

event code 47700
HDM cannot connect to the database server

i had restart the sql server ande the hdm/oam services.

the problem still exist.

can anybody help me???

thanks in advance!

The CLAN IP address has to be manually changed in the Sybase database of the server. Until you do this you will have that problem. Contact your vendor immediatly. The ELAN address has to be changed in the server config as well as the ELAN side on the PBX.

i've done the following steps...

1.changed the computer name in w2k
2.reboot server
3.login as admin
4.computer name sync with the sccs-tool
5.run nbconfig and changed the computer name
6.change the ip-adresse on w2k
7.reboot server
8.login as NGenSys
9.run nbconfig and changed the ip-adresse

in the registry,i think, something is wrong...

i've got in the tree:
"My computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\"

the following six "sybase" folders:
LEGACY_SYBBCK_oldcomputername_BS
LEGACY_SYBMON_oldcomputername_MS
LEGACY_SYBSQL_oldcomputername
and
LEGACY_SYBBCK_newcomputername_BS
LEGACY_SYBMON_onewcomputername_MS
LEGACY_SYBSQL_newcomputername

both computer names, the old one and the new one...
i can't delete the old folders, also when i shutdown all services, it isn't possible to delete them...

when i start a isql query on command line, i receive historical data...but not with odbc and fat-client...

You need to run the nicomsetup utility; it will put the new CLAN IP address in all the proper places in the address table (to see the address table, run nbconfig -admin in the Run box from the Start menu). Shut down the Symposium services before you do this.

The process that I use for an IP address/name change is:
- Shut down Symposium services.
- Change IP address in W2K.
- Change the computer name in W2K.
- Do NOT reboot server.
- Use the Server Setup Config to change the IP and name.
- Check and (change if necessary) the the IP address in
Symposium (nbconfig)
- Check the computer name in Symposium (nbconfig)
- Run the nicomsetup utility.
- Run the computer name synch utility.
- Look at the Address Table to see if all has been reset.
- Reboot server.

Hope that helps.

We experienced this before.

Just run the Server Setup Configuration again and make sure that you select the new clan/elan ip address.

Don't forget to shutdown the services before doing this.

Good Luck :)
