My most common reason for this happening is corruption of the headset/speaker/mic/ringer configuration in the setup menu item - unless you aren't getting into the application at all. Windows PCs have a tendancy to "forget" devices on occasion - especially USB devices, or if yu plugged a USB device into a different port. This will cause the console to not go live.
Attempting to solve the problem, a user will often exit the AC-Win application, which is the right thing to do (followed by rebooting the PC), BUT, the problem happens if the user says Yes to the "Save Workspace?" question. You must NEVER save the workspace when you have a problem - because that saves the problem permanently. Only Save Workspace after changing configuration or button programming when you know you changed it on purpose.
I would suggest going into your audio settings and making sure you have valid devices set for microphone, speaker and ringer. usually your soundcard is the audio mixer...
If you find problems and change them, THEN save workspace so the changes get saved.
See if that helps.
