i was on my computer yest. morning downloading some music files and later that day i went back on the computer and talked on aim and all of a sudden it froze. so i restarted it and now its doing really weird stuff like saying boot from cd. so i put the windows pro cd in and it says ASR or procede with windows setup. i tried recovery a couple of times and got to the part where i create my new drives but then it said it cant do it cause of something wierd. tried it again and said hard drive failed. i kept doing it over and over and got diff. things. one thing it said that hard drive may be not connected( i checked it and it was.) i got something that said a file is bad and reboot it in safe mode. i tried to do safe mode by pressing F8 but it said NSTRD or soemthing like that is missing and press ctrl+alt+delete and restart. im at the point of total confusion. please help me!!!!

thanxs

ps: everytime when i start it up it goes to a black screen that says PCI device listing and then at the bottom it says boot from cd. just to let u know.please i need someones help. thanxs

I had that problem once with a SOYO mobo. Everytime I worked on it, and moved the IDE cable around, I would get that error (try to boot from CD or Lan). Replace the data cables and give it a try.

If its not the cables - check the drive (download diagnostic utility from manufacturer's website).
